More than just a headline, this feels like a direct challenge to our progress, to our very presence in spaces we fought hard to enter. Most notably, Walmart, the nation's largest private employer, has significantly rolled back its DEI programs, signaling a profound shift that could set a concerning precedent for other corporations.

This retreat from DEI commitments comes at a time when the need for such programs has never been clearer. The recent Lean In & McKinsey report reveals a disheartening statistic: for every 100 men promoted from entry-level to manager, only 54 Black women achieve the same. This stark disparity highlights not just a corporate failure but a societal one, emphasizing why initiatives like those previously supported by Walmart are essential—and why their rollback demands our action.
